Dancing on Daddy’s Shoes
You have turned for me my mourning into dancing; You have put off my sackcloth and clothed me with gladness. – Psalm 30:1
Amidst worship, vivid pictures streamed in my mind’s eye of a sunlit floor dancing on my Daddy’s feet. A tall man with large shoes, plenty of room for my tiny feet. Tears uncontrollable contemplating dancing on the feet of Jesus now! My thoughts turned, a fresh awareness of His longing to be close to me. The truth? He is close, never leaving me for a second, my memory often fails me, forgetting the truth of His Presence with me.
Deep within that soul of yours and mine is a longing to be connected with our Heavenly Father, the One who created us and shaped us in His own image. – Ravi Zacharias, YouTube
How do you remind yourself of the reality of His Presence with you? Worship opens the door of my heart and mind to the truth, THE Truth, Jesus with me. Yesterday, I wasn’t feeling worshipful. Rather tired, aware of the many tasks ahead. Yet, He met me in worship and overwhelmed me with His desire to be close to me. Imagine it! God, the Creator of the universe and all life within, spins around anticipating you!
Yet I know that you are most holy; it’s indisputable. You are God-enthroned, surrounded with songs, living among the shouts of praise of your princely people. – Psalm 22:3 (The Passion Translation)
Time with Him is not a box meant to check. It’s coffee with your dearest friend, the one who loves you regardless of…. Hope exchanged for hopelessness, joy for sadness, and purpose made clear. How will you open your heart and mind to your longing for a connection with Jesus today? Comment and let us know.
